Does anyone make real shit anymore?

I want a gold necklace with Jillicious on it. I suddenly feel I have to wear my name on my chest. Jules Kim is the brainchild behind Bijules NYC, a cult accessory and jewellery line found in stores from New York to Tokyo to Paris. Her designs are pretty fresh. In reply to Kanye's question "Does anyone make real shit anymore?", apparently some do. Embrace that hope, baby!

lieben Sie mich, lieben Sie meinen roten Filzhut!

Andy Kessler doing a "front-side micro edger" in Riverside Park; 1978.

Sure, it looks like a Tyrolean hat that a big fat German man might wear with tight shorts and green suspenders while chugging a big mug of Krombacher. Fedora? I like. Red fedora with feather? I like more. Not only do I like her headgear, she's hanging out at the HAZE Studios Grand Opening with Andy Kessler (right), a key member of a loose-knit collective of skateboarders and graffiti artists known as the Soul Artists of Zoo York back in the 70s in New York.

white x'mas

Yeah, fuck it, so what if my daughter's dressed in a nightie with pink boots? So what if I am wearing the same clothes I wore last night to the gay slumber party my wife doesn't know about? So what if I am carrying my fanny pack like a manbag? Yeah, yeah, so what if I want to wear my thick woollen socks with my trusty ol' Birkenstocks?! It's a free country! Bite me!

You might recognise her from the movie "Science of Sleep". Charlotte Gainsbourg is her name and she has a right to style. Her father is the late Serge Gainsbourg, possibly one of France's most famous singer-songwriter, poet, director and actor and her mother is Jane Birkin... yes, the Birkin bag was inspired by her. Known for her high-waisted jeans and leggings, Charlotte is currently the muse to Balenciaga. Did I mention she is a critically acclaimed singer too? Thank fucking goodness she doesn't have the conventional white bread pretty face and damnnnn, does she makes clothes look good.

*shrug*

Maison Martin Margiela has revived a long discarded fad. Shoulderpads. This gem of a style bunny was discovered at the Terry Richardson show last Friday.

Damnnnn, I need those pink shoes...

Do you ever get the feeling you're being watched? Maybe this guy just walked past.

Mary, Mary, Quite Contrary

I don't care what other people say about Mary-Kate Olsen. Style isn't dictated by the norm or convention or a set formula. It's about being disruptive and doing it with poise. No one does this better than her. Who else can make a white T-shirt, neon pink CFM heels and an emu-inspired dress look like haute couture?
